This hotel is in an old building which has been converted to apartments, and it really shows as the amenities/floorplans are a bit skewiff. Our first room (1 bedroom apartment) on the 1st floor was very large, but had a weird layout and only one window which overlooked a dark and dingey alleyway. It also had a broken shower, the floors and bedside tables were dusty, and the room had a funky smell. However, as soon as we alerted the receptionist (Anna) to these issues - she very promptly contacted management and had us moved to another apartment on the other side of the building on the 3rd floor. Although this room was slightly smaller, it was clean and comfortable, full of natural light, and had beautiful views of Hobart and Mt. Wellington. I’m a big believer that it’s how you resolve the problem that is a true reflection of how good a business is, so for that alone here’s a big shout out to Anna for helping us out so quickly and professionally. The location is also a really big plus, as it is only a 10min walk from the CBD and has a large public park virtually next door. We’d absolutely stay again for the service and the location!

Wonderful room with space to spare. I mean really - you could play tennis in there! Nothing to speak of in the way of a view, although we did better than our friends who had a view of the next building's wall. But we were too busy to spend any time looking out of the window, so that wasn't a problem. I do suggest that if you intend hiring or using a car while you stay at Mantra, book a parking spot. The parking is tight - I mean, it can be seriously tight, and there are fewer parking spots than there are rooms. But it's great value and it's in a terrific spot.

The property is very conveniently located a stone’s throw from Salamanca Place and an easy walk to Battery Point. The rooms are cosy, warm and clean. The staff are friendly and helpful. Having parking available in the on-site garage is initially why we chose to stay here. The apartment we stayed in this time had a four poster bed and lovely wooden antique furniture, which was a nice touch that made it feel homely, unlike many other hotels that are decked out with furniture and decor that give a cold corporate feel.

We stayed for one night at Mantra One Sandy Bay and we all really enjoyed the stay. It was spotlessly clean, beds were comfortable and there was plenty of space for our family of 5. Kids stayed upstairs and we were downstairs so it was great to have some separation. Soft music was playing when we walked in and the portacot was already set up and made on arrival too which was greatly appreciated. Location was fantastic, very close to St David’s Park and Salamanca. We’d stay again (although it is a bit pricey).

We were allocated a suite with one extremely huge lounge room! It was quite unexpected and a fun surprise! Very useful to have the space, the laundry and kitchenette. We were within walking distance to everything, which made the whole time in Hobart with friends relaxed and convenient. Great place to rest and reset, as it was quiet and dark. View of the Mason building next door and the laneway between was different! Bed was so comfortable and warm with the extra blanket provided.
